The high speed internet providers in my area have been busy putting together deals and incentives to try and get my business. While I realize it’s a great time to upgrade from dialup, or in some people’s case to switch broadband providers, I am not sure how to go about making the most educated decision. One thing I wanted to make sure I wrapped my mind around was understanding the basics, like what is the difference between DSL, cable internet, satellite, and fiber optics. I also understand that making the right speed selection is important in order to be able to use the internet the way I envision using it. I also wanted to easily determine who the internet providers in my area were without making a lot of phone calls.
