Strength Training For All Body Types

Posted by admin on Jun-14-2010

I saw an elderly woman the other day at the gym. She must have been in her 80’s. Although it isn’t too surprising seeing a member of the senior circuit it was surprising seeing her physique. This woman had arms and legs that were like sticks. And the way she moved around the gym was extremely slow. But when she took a seat at on of the strength resistance machines this woman was to my amazement and to fellow gym rats pumping quite a bit of iron doing her sets. How did it she do it? It’s a mystery. I mean it didn’t appear she had any muscles. Yet there she was doing her strength training and good for her.

So I wonder what are the excuses people make not working out? This woman wasn’t buying any excuses. After she left a man came into the gym. He must have weighed in the 300’s, fat to say the least, yet this man and it was obvious had a fitness program. He went about his business systematically working hard on each exercise. Got to give him some props, the man was strong.

Some people who are overweight get right to it. They don’t wait til they drop excess fat. When you’re dedicated to a cause one that involves your heath and well-being, people will do just about anything. The biggest thing they do is act. Not just talk about getting in shape, but they put the words into motion. So if anyone is thinking along these same lines, maybe it’s time to take action.
